In a surprising turn of events, Jimmy Fallon, a late-night comedian known for his pro-Biden stance, took aim at the President in a recent monologue. The “Tonight Show” host mocked Biden‘s Covid-19 diagnosis, his apparent cognitive decline, and the waning support from his own party.
“On the bright side… it’s the first positive news he’s had in months,” Fallon made a witty remark on US president’s medical developments.”Biden has COVID. Luckily he can’t spread it because Democrats have been distancing themselves from him since the debate,” he added.
Fallon continued his barrage of jokes, saying, “Biden had fatigue, a cough and brain fog… then he got COVID. Thankfully, Biden is expected to make a full recovery — and his doctors say he’ll be back to 60 percent in no time.”
Late-night comedy shows, with the exception of Bill Maher’s program, have long been considered a stronghold of pro-Biden sentiment. Comedians like Fallon and Stephen Colbert of CBS have consistently ridiculed former President Trump while treating Biden with a gentler approach.
Colbert was invited to interview Biden at a high-profile event at Radio City Music Hall in March, alongside former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
