    Vir Das backs Air India after Ahmedabad crash, praising its staff as the “Best crew in the sky” : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

    Air India is facing intense criticism after its London-bound flight AI171 crashed in Ahmedabad on Thursday, claiming the lives of 241 passengers on board and leaving many injured. Amid the backlash, comedian and actor Vir Das has expressed his support for the airline, saying he can’t imagine how difficult it must be for them to do their job at this moment.

    On Thursday, Vir Das took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his support for Air India, stating that he stands with the airline. “It’s a tragic day for so many families. And all our thoughts and prayers are with them. I just wanted to add my support for the crew. I’ve flown Air India all my life. It is not an airline without problems but without fail, I know them to be the best crew in the sky,” Vir wrote, expressing his condolences and appreciation for the airline’s staff.

    He further said, “Time will tell what happened on this tragic flight. I cannot imagine how hard it is for them to do their job right now having lost their own. For the crew, just to say one stands with you. And hopes to see you soon on a flight.”

    An Air India aircraft carrying 242 passengers crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat on Thursday. Initial reports indicate the plane went down in a densely populated area near the airport, prompting local residents to rush to the scene and assist with rescue efforts.

    Several Indian film personalities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Allu Arjun, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Rashmika Mandanna, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Sonu Sood, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sidharth Malhotra, have expressed their grief and condolences following the tragedy.
