The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on June 11 declared the results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Preliminary 2025, an entryway to one of the most prestigious careers in the country. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their result status on the official websites — upsc.gov.in and upsconline.gov.in.

In addition to the CSE prelims, UPSC has also released the result status for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) prelims. For many aspirants, this result marks the first step toward their dream of serving the nation in administrative, police, foreign or forest services.

Qualified candidates must update their details between June 16 and 25, including preferences such as scribe assistance, large-font question papers, and any name-related corrections supported by gazette notification.

A Rs 200 exam fee is applicable during this stage, except for female, PwBD, SC, and ST candidates.

    UPSC CSE EXAM DETAILS

This year, the preliminary exam was conducted on May 25, 2025, with Paper 1 (General Studies) held in the morning and Paper 2 (CSAT) in the afternoon.

A total of 979 vacancies will be filled through this year’s recruitment. Candidates who clear the prelims now prepare for the mains exam, which is scheduled to begin from August 22 and will be held over five days.

It’s important to note that the cut-off scores, answer keys, and marks will only be published after the entire selection process is complete in 2026.

UPSC’s Civil Services Exam unfolds in three stages — prelims, mains, and interview — each testing not just knowledge, but clarity, conviction, and composure.

For thousands of aspirants, today’s result is more than a score — it’s a signpost on a long, challenging road toward public service.
