Celebrated filmmaker and producer Karan Johar recently kicked off the first episode of Bollywood Hungama’s brand-new podcast series, Producers of India, by walking audiences through his journey in cinema — from being a debutant director to building the powerhouse that is Dharma Productions. But one of the most heartfelt moments came when KJo addressed the long-speculated rivalry between two of Bollywood’s top stars: Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Brushing off any notions of ego or competition, Karan said, “Everybody is very understanding of each other. There is no ego. This is all very old school in looking at it in that gaze or lens. I don’t look, and I’m sure they don’t either.”
He further revealed moments of personal camaraderie between the two actors and himself, sharing, “I remember after watching Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranveer came to my house and told me his thoughts. It was wonderful. Then Ranbir gave me feedback on Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. I think we are all friends above anything else.”
Karan also touched upon how their off-screen relationships go far beyond professional conversations. “We’ve hung out with each other, we’ve chatted with each other, we also talk about our personal lives and feelings,” he said.
Speaking of the professional front, KJo is currently busy hosting Amazon Prime Video’s reality show, The Traitors. Meanwhile, Ranbir will be next seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Coming to Ranveer Singh, who was last seen in Singham Again, he is shooting for Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. In addition to this, he will soon, reportedly, start shooting for Don 3 as well.
