Chenford are a fan favourite couple who have had hundreds of moments together from being Rookie and TO, to friends on and off the job and then creating one of the biggest fan followed relationships on the show. There have been so many moments and it’s been incredibly hard, but we have consolidated the top ten Chenford moments over the course of the seven seasons.
10. Haemorrhagic Fever

First coming in at number ten, we have Tim and Lucy’s conversation with a door in-between them, this is the first time in the show that we see that Tim and Lucy care for each other. It may have only been platonic at the time but looking back after 7 seasons, some may say this was the point that romantic feelings started to develop, Tim even appears to try and keep Lucy at arm’s length in the season two premiere. It sure is an emotional scene but one that truly sets the tone for the rest of Chenford’s relationship
9. You Know Me So Well, Too Well

This moment after DOD is the first time we see Tim and Lucy acting like a very domestic couple despite not actually being together. Tim knowing the exact food that Lucy would want showed how much he cared for her (even if you ignore the rampageous actions when trying to find her throughout the episode), it was also the first time we see Tim soften his exterior when around Lucy. As a viewer you also can’t help but wonder how many times Tim had ordered the meal to the hospital room in order to make sure her Veggie burger and fries with extra pickles was warm when she woke up.
8. Save Me A Dance

After Lucy’s first stint undercover is successfully completed the Mid-Wilshire crew all attend the soon to be disastrous wedding of Wesley and Lopez. Before the chaos instilled Tim and Lucy were able to have their own private moment which ended with Tim asking Lucy to save him a dance. An early moment of Chenford chemistry, they may have not been able to dance together at that wedding but that didn’t stop them from dancing together a season later at Nyla and James’ wedding reception.
7. Powder Bomb x2

The series has experienced two powder bombs, one set off by Tim on Lucy and the second one being given as a present from Lucy to Tim. The first powder bomb was a funny moment for all watchers of the show, however Lucy giving the second one to Tim as a present on her last day as a rookie was a flawless example of how strong their bond is and how it had grown over the 13 months they had been working together.
6. Tim’s Father

“The Tim tests, those don’t make me like him” – 9 words to make anyone who is a Tim Bradford lover cry. But even in one of his darkest moments, Lucy was right there by his side. The entire episode follows Tim finding out information about his Fathers past. Lucy was stood by him the entire episode no matter what, some may have thought the events Lucy was there for should have been experienced by Tim’s girlfriend Ashely. However I would argue that Lucy was the perfect person to be there for Tim, at this point it was clear that Lucy and Tim had romantic feelings for each other and this episode and more specifically this scene showed how much unspoken love was between them.
5. Lie Detector Test

Skip Tracer Randy is known for his silly tricks and shenanigans, but this idea might be his best one. Tim and Lucy had been locked in an argument about Lucy’s undercover career. Lucy arrived at the station after being called there by Tim, we see him sat attached to a lie detector machine. A perfect chance for Lucy to ask all the questions she wanted to, specifically whether Tim loved her. It was such a sweet moment, Tim’s sigh of happiness before telling her he did love her was a special moment for both couple and fans. It was also the first time we saw either of them confess their love.
100th Episode Dance – Honourable Mention

We have an honourable mention of Tim and Lucy’s dance in the 100th episode, this is the second part to the lie detector test. This is where we see Lucy’s one and currently only time to confess her love outright to Tim.
4. Small Doses

The breakup is a sore spot for all Chenford fans but one of the best post breakup scenes is known as the Small Doses scene. Earlier in the episode Lucy jumped from one moving car to another in order to save Tim’s life. The Small Doses scene gives us the perfect quote to show that Chenford will make their way back to each other. Tim, who is rarely an emotional man, tells Lucy “you will never know how much I appreciate the kindness you’ve shown me, and I will spend the rest of my life trying to pay it back in whatever small doses you’ll allow” a sentence that will forever be remembered when people think about Chenford’s relationship.
3. Tim asks Lucy on a Date

The true start of Tim and Lucy’s relationship is when Tim asks Lucy on a date despite her still being with Chris at the time. Lucy agrees but wishes to break up with Chris before dating Tim ‘in order to do it right’. This scene was so perfect for fans of the pair to watch, it showed how good both of their characters were in order to wait, it was also the moment that all fans had been waiting for since the start of the show.
2. Wildfire

Coming in at number two we have the Wildfire scene. One of the more recent episodes in the series but one that was a turning point for Tim and Lucy’s eventual reconciliation after their breakup in season 6. We might not all be fans of Seth Ridley, but he did at least give us this scene. Tim and Lucy found themselves stuck together under a fire blanket in the hopes of staying alive after Seth messes up sending them to almost certain death. This is the first time since the breakup (and second time in the show) that we see Tim admit that he loves Lucy. The entire season despite arguing is filled with love. A true fan favourite scene.
1. Day Of Death

Day of Death comes in at our number one spot. It is such an integral part of Chenford’s story. After all if Tim hadn’t saved her that day then there would be no Chenford. The entire episode has every viewer watching with hitched breath. We truly get to see the extent that Tim cares for Lucy even if it does take another three seasons for romantic feeling to be revealed. Tim dragging Lucy out of the barrel and delivering CPR is the tensest moment of the episode but the hug that proceeds after she regains consciousness is one of happiness and relief. A truly breath-taking performance from both Melissa O’Neil and Eric Winter, showcasing what was to come for Chenford.
