Paresh Rawal has consistently won hearts with his versatile roles, from playing ‘Baburao Apte’ in Hera Pheri to taking up the role of ‘Sunil Dutt’ in Sanju. He has never disappointed the audiences and prefers to stay low-key. However, the actor recently got embroiled in a major controversy after his exit from the highly awaited film, Hera Pheri 3. After the exit sparked a legal tussle with his fellow actor and the film’s producer, Akshay Kumar, Paresh has been silent on the issue. However, recently, the actor took to his X handle and replied to a fan’s post about the film which has left netizens confused.
Paresh Rawal emphasises that Hera Pheri has three heroes
Paresh Rawal never shied away from sharing his honest opinions on different issues. Days after his Hera Pheri 3 exit made headlines, he recently took to his X handle and replied to a post on the platform about the film. In the post, one fan requested the actor to reconsider his decision to leave the upcoming film in the franchise. The fan also mentioned that the iconic film had only one hero, Paresh Rawal, as ‘Baburao Apte’. However, the actor, known for his grounded nature, penned:
“No. There are three heroes in Hera Pheri.”
The post left netizens confused about Paresh’s meaning. Some felt he was being humble to tag his co-stars, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, as heroes. At the same time, others felt that it was a hint that the whole Hera Pheri 3 fiasco was a PR stunt to create a buzz around the film. One user penned, “Why am I suspecting that you will be a part of that film and everything is a PR.” On the other hand, popular content creator Ashish Chanchlani wrote, “Paresh sir, I understand you must be feeling burned out by babu bhaiya. It’s a tough situation for you that no one will understand. But we genuinely request you to come back. You are truly the soul of this franchise. I hope you find a way.”
Why did Paresh Rawal take an exit from Hera Pheri 3?
Akshay Kumar’s legal team had filed a lawsuit against Paresh Rawal and sought Rs. 25 crore from the actor after he abruptly took a leave from the film. They claimed that the actor was paid the signing payment and a promo of the film was shot. Consequently, his sudden exit caused losses in their investments and other promotional plans. In turn, Paresh Rawal’s legal team also sent a legal notice to give a reply on the matter.

In a conversation with ANI, Paresh’s lawyer explained that the actor was not given the exact story, screenplay and long-form contract as promised earlier. At the same, they claimed that the producer of the first two films of the Hera Pheri franchise, Firoz Nadiadwala sent him notice over franchise rights of the film. Given all these reasons, Paresh Rawal decided that it was better to leave the film and he returned the signing amount.
Amid all the speculations and legal battles, the future of Hera Pheri 3 continues to be uncertain. What do you think about Paresh Rawal’s new post about the film?
