Raja Raghuvanshi’s demise in Meghalaya has left the entire nation in shock. Raja went on a vacation with his wife, Sonam on May 16, 2025. On May 23, 2025, the couple went missing. After investigation, Raja’s dead body was found inside of a gorge. Following this, three hitmen were arrested, along with Sonam. Sonam was accused to be the main plotter of the murder case along with her alleged beau, Raj Kushwaha. Sonam was found in a dhaba in Ghazipur, reportedly in an unconscious state. Now, the dhaba owner revealed what happened there and the condition of Sonam after she arrived at the dhaba.
Dhaba owner where Sonam Raghuvanshi was found reveals her condition
Talking to ANI, the owner revealed that Sonam Raghuvanshi reached there around 1 a.m. The owner shared that Sonam wanted his phone to call her family, and when he provided her with the same, she started crying while interacting with her family members. The owner then took his phone back and shared the details about the location. The dhaba owner said that Sonam was not mentally fine. To back this, the photos of hers that went viral, showed her in a devastated state. The dhaba owner continued to reveal that later, he got a call from Sonam’s brother, who asked him to inform the local police, which he did, and the officials took her around 2:30 a.m. In the dhaba owner’s words:
“Sonam came here around 1 AM. She wanted my phone to call her family members, and I gave it to her. She started crying when she called her family. I took my phone from her and gave them the details about Sonam’s location. She was not mentally fine. After some time, her brother called me and asked me to inform the local police. Police arrived here and took her around 2:30 am. Sonam was alone; I gave her water.”

In an interview with ANI, Sonam Raghuvanshi’s father talked about the allegations against her daughter, Sonam, about orchestrating her husband, Raja’s murder. Sonam’s father said that he has full faith in her daughter, and he knows that she cannot do this. He called his daughter innocent and mentioned that all revelations by the officials had been falsified since the beginning. He also mentioned that when a couple got married with their families’ consent, how can someone murder the other?
During the same conversation, Sonam’s dad further mentioned that his daughter was not arrested in Meghalaya, but she reached Ghazipur all on her own. He shared that after reaching the dhaba, she called her brother, Govinda, and after that, police reached there and took her under custody. He further mentioned that he wasn’t able to speak to his daughter. He further asked CBI to investigate the case, and accused the Meghalaya police of fabricating stories. In his words:
“Sonam called his brother, Govind, who informed me that Sonam has been found at a dhaba in Ghazipur. My appeal to the government is to get a CBI inquiry done. Meghalaya Police is lying. They did not do any inquiry. I am 100% sure that Meghalaya Police is involved in the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. I have not spoken to the family of Raja Raghuvanshi. Sonam and Raja did not know each other before marriage. It was an arranged marriage. I have not been able to speak to my daughter. Only my son, Govind, spoke to Sonam around 2 AM. Sonam reached the dhaba in Ghazipur on her own. Meghalaya Police is trying to trap Sonam in this case. If CBI inquiry is done, officials of the Police Station in Meghalaya will be behind bars.”
Sonam Raghuvansi’s video from outside the dhaba goes viral
Recently, a video of Sonam made rounds on social media, wherein she could be seen outside of the dhaba. She was seen not responding and looking with a fixed gaze, which made it pretty obvious that she was in distress. Reportedly, she has reacted to the accusations against her after the arrest and said that she’s not the accused but the victim. She also mentioned that she was abducted and abandoned in Ghazipur.
