Charu Asopa got married to Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen, back in 2019. However, their marital bliss was short-lived, and the couple divorced in 2023. The duo’s relationship ended on an ugly note, but after their separation, they mended things for the well-being of their daughter, Ziana. Rajeev and Charu even often dropped posts with one another, which left people wondering if they had gotten back together. Nonetheless, Charu left everyone shocked as she revealed that she was quitting acting and shifting her base back to her hometown, Bikaner, due to a financial crisis, which led her to sell suits online. Now, once again, her ex-husband, Rajeev, has reacted to how her shift has made it difficult for him to be an active father.

Rajeev Sen and his ex-wife, Charu Asopa, have been the talk of the town since the latter quit the industry and moved to Bikaner with their daughter Ziana. The former actress claimed that she had informed Rajeev about her plans to move and that he could always visit his daughter in Bikaner. However, Rajeev, in his latest video, reacted to Charu’s move, saying it has made it difficult for him to be present in their daughter, Ziana’s life.
Rajeev shared that as he can’t travel to Bikaner every weekend, the shift has created a big gap between him and his daughter, Ziana. In the video, Rajeev claimed that there was absolutely no need for Charu to leave Mumbai. He affirmed that she would soon come back and settle in the city of dreams. He was quoted as saying:
“The woman will always have a bigger role to play, especially when the child is with her. I have very limited resources. I can only do video calls, or I can go meet her (Ziana). More than anything else, I feel very bad for Ziana. At least if nothing else, there was no need for Charu to leave Bombay. Because ghoom phir kea ap log dekh lena, she will come back to Bombay. And I’m not saying for me. She will come back, she will settle down again here.”

In the same vlog, Rajeev Sen shared that after living and working in a city like Mumbai for such a long time period, one gets used to the lifestyle and builds friendships. He added that Charu Asopa must have grown familiar with the same, and Bikaner is completely different. He further added that visiting Ziana has become a challenge because he cannot go to Bikaner every weekend, as he has to travel for work at times. In the same conversation, he added that while they could not understand or respect each other, there was a lot of love. He was quoted as saying:
“Ek dusre ko samajh nahi paaye. Ek dusre ko respect nahi kar paaye. Pyaar toh bohot tha. But I feel like whatever happened was for the highest good. For her and for me. When it comes to Ziana, if Charu genuinely wants a father’s love for her daughter, she needs to play the bigger role because Ziana is with her.”

Rajeev Sen further added that his daughter, Ziana was too young to understand what was going on. He added that the same might apply to many couples going through a divorce with children involved. He stated that at the end of the day, children should be free to meet their fathers, regardless of issues between the parents. He was quoted as saying:
“Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to spend time with Ziana as a father should do. Dropping her to school, picking her up. Sometimes I feel I am a father, but baap banne ka mauka hi nahi mila.”
