Bad Bunny walked the Met Gala carpet for the fourth time on Monday night, this year donning a dark brown pava hat symbolizing his Puerto Rican roots.

For the rest of his ensemble, the pop star wore a custom Prada brown kid mohair suit, tobacco poplin shirt finished with a raffia tie, natural rope and leather belt, and natural colored canvas boots as he walked up the iconic steps, complete with embellished leather gloves and a Fall/Winter 2025 runway bag.

The straw pava hat is associated with the Puerto Rican jíbaro, who work in the countryside and farm the land. Bad Bunny wore a similar hat in promotional photos for his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, which was released earlier this year.

“We worked on this look for a couple months,” Bad Bunny told Vogue on the carpet. “Some pieces are inspired in the Puerto Rican culture, like the sombrero and the tie because it’s the same fabric. We did something special. I feel good. I hope people think I’m looking good.”

Shortly before arriving at the Met steps, the artist announced his global stadium tour on Monday, which will begin in November in the Dominican Republic and also hit Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Japan and much of Europe, with notably no U.S. dates. He added on the carpet that the show is “going to be a huge party” and teased it would be “mucho sentimiento.”

Bad Bunny was one of the event’s co-chairs last year, this year replaced by A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams (alongside Anna Wintour) as the 2025 Met Gala theme celebrated the Costume Institute’s new exhibition Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.
