Akshay Kumar’s movie, Housefull 5 has been grabbing the attention of lately. For the unversed, the movie was released in 5000 theatres, making it one of the widest-released Hindi films. The movie has garnered mixed reactions from the audience. For the unversed, the movie features a huge star cast. While the movie grossed a good amount, the gossip about it did not stop right away. Housefull 5 has grossed Rs. 87.5 crore worldwide. Even after that, a certain section of the audience has remained dissatisfied for a particular reason.
Housefull 5 makers upset netizens with the objectification of the actresses in the film
Housefull 5 has grabbed mostly negative feedback from the audience, contrary to the first day’s opening budget of Rs. 24 crore. The movie features some of the famous stars such as Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Soundarya Sharma, and others.
Housefull 5 left the cinephiles intrigued with its dual endings while leaving everyone wondering, ‘Who is the real Jolly?’. Amid cine lovers still wanting to watch the movie, a section of Twitter users imposed a question about women’s objectification in the films. While not everyone, this section questioned how a famous franchise could even do the same.
Questioning the women portrayals in the film, one user penned, “The most cheap thing about Housefull 5 is how they treated their female leads the air duct crawling sequence, intros and especially the debut soundarya bichari ko toh puri movie mein buss sexualize karne ke liye rakha hai.” Another user commented, “Let’s be real for a moment: all of the women were heavily objectified s**ually. None of them had anything else to do in this movie other than being eye candy and catering solely to the male gaze. I still feel so disgusted. #Housefull5.”

Salary of the cast of Housefull 5
Housefull 5 is made on a budget between Rs. 220 crore to 350 crore, as reported. Given, this is a high-budget movie, it’s pretty obvious that the cast was paid some hefty paychecks. Akshay was asked about his salary from the movie. To this, he said that the movie was made on a good budget, and thus, he also had earned good money. If the reports are to be believed, he was paid more than Rs. 100 crore, or something between Rs. 50-60 crore. On the other hand, if we talk about the salary provided to the female cast, reportedly, Sonam Bajwa, who played the role of ‘Zara’ got an amount of Rs. 7-8 crore, while Jacqueline Fernandez, who played the role of ‘Sasikala’ received an amount of Rs. 5-6 crore.
Soundarya Sharma grabbed a whole of attention with her role in Housefull 5
Among others, it was Bigg Boss alum, Soundarya Sharma who became the talk of the town with her role in Housefull 5, mainly for the song, Laal Pari. Talking about the overwhelming response her performance got, Soundarya revealed that it had been a surprise package for her. The actress also mentioned that while she doesn’t have any godfather in the industry, her godsister, Warda Nadiadwala believed in her, and that’s how she got confidence about showcasing her skills.
