The much-anticipated release has already started generating major buzz, with the first two episodes winning over none other than Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. The show, which promises to be a tongue-in-cheek take on the inner workings of the Hindi film industry, has already gained massive praise for its originality, humour, and Aryan’s talent as a director, even before its official premiere.
Ted Sarandos reviews Aryan’s debut, says people know nothing about Bollywood
Recently, Ted Sarandos had a candid conversation with Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha. During the chat, the Netflix CEO revealed that he had the chance to preview the first two episodes of Aryan Khan’s show and found them genuinely funny. Speaking about the concept of the show, Sarandos remarked:
“It’s very fun. I’ve watched the first two episodes so far. It’s very funny. I think people inside and outside of India know nothing about the inner workings of Bollywood. So, it’s a really fun world.”
Ted highly praised Aryan, calling him a ‘very good director’, and expressing excitement for what the budding filmmaker brings to the table in the future. He also shared that he has immense faith in Aryan’s directorial potential.
Avinash Gowariker and Karan Johar heap praises on Aryan Khan’s directorial debut
Not just Ted Sarandos, but everyone who got to watch a preview of The Ba***ds of Bollywood has nothing but praise for the show. Celebrity photographer, Avinash Gowariker, who has reportedly seen portions of the show, couldn’t stop gushing about Aryan’s directorial talent. In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Gowariker called Aryan’s work in the series ‘unbelievable’, praising his energy and overall confidence. In his words:
“I just love Aryan. I love his energy, his confidence, his swag, and I was so looking forward to and hoping that he becomes an actor, but he has become a director. What a series he has made! I was lucky to see some parts of it. It’s unbelievable what he has done. He’s too cool, he’s too talented.”
Earlier, speaking to Raj Shamani on his podcast, filmmaker Karan Johar also deeply admired Aryan Khan’s work in the Netflix show, adding that the young director doesn’t let his father’s fame guide him but wants to carve a niche of his own. Karan, who claims to have seen the show, emphasised that he strongly believes in Aryan’s directorial talent. Karan Johar was quoted as saying:
“I have huge belief in Aryan Khan’s directorial talent… If there is a King, there will be a Prince. I can say this with confidence because I’ve seen the show… He’s not anything like you’d expect Shah Rukh Khan’s son to be. He’s his own person. He works quietly, he doesn’t carry the baggage of his father, he doesn’t carry the weight of his legacy. He works hard, he works 20 hours a day. He is a rare personality type.”
