Amitabh Bachchan has been one of the biggest megastars in the Hindi film industry, who has reigned over Indian cinema for more than 50 years. From his ‘angry young man’ era to experimenting in his roles after the age of 70, Big B has left an undeniable mark on Indian cinema. Apart from his brilliant acting, the Sholay actor has also earned respect for his grace and grounded personality. However, every legend has some moment that leaves others stunned, and so does Big B. In a recent interview, the TV actor opened up about one such moment they experienced in their life.
Saanand Verma recalls how Big B treated him in two contrasting ways
Saanand Verma, who is popular for playing the role of ‘Anokhelal Saxena’ in the comedy TV show, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, sat down for an interview with Hindi Rush. During the conversation, he recalled how Amitabh Bachchan treated him in two completely contrasting ways during their meetings. One of them was extremely warm, and the other was unexpectedly cold. Saanand shared that he first met Amitabh Bachchan while shooting a promo for his game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. It was a dream come true moment for him, the megastar was warm and they talked for three long years which made Saanand feel special. In his words:
“I have spoken to many stars, but I didn’t think much about them. But I felt Amitabh Bachchan’s aura when I was shooting Kaun Banega Crorepati’s promo. The first time I met him… he was like… I felt like I was Abhishek Bachchan. I felt like I was his son. We spoke for three hours.”
Later, when Saanand met Big B for another shoot for the second time, he expected that they would continue to hold the same bond. However, things took a sharp turn, and the Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actor who was excited to meet him, was left shocked. He explained that the Don actor was cold and nearly dismissive towards him. It left Saanand confused as he couldn’t pinpoint the cause behind Amitabh’s contrasting treatment. Recalling the second experience, Saanand said:
“However, the second time I met him to shoot an advertisement, he was very rude. After completing the shoot, I went and told him, ‘I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work with you twice.’ But he didn’t even look at me. He kept staring at a painting and said, ‘Bhagwan kare apko tibara mile.”
Saanand Verma claims no one is friends in the film industry
In the same industry, Saanand Verma shared that the difference between Amitabh Bachchan’s initial behaviour, when he gave his complete attention, to the second time when he ignored him was evident. But, despite that contrast, he admires Big B and holds immense respect for him. He explained that there is no other actor like Amitabh Bachchan in the film industry. However, he also learnt that there are no friends in showbiz.

Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the Tamil film, Vettaiyan, where he shared the screen space with South India’s superstar, Rajnikanth, after more than two decades. The megastar wrapped up the latest season of his game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati’s 16th season in March 2025. Big B is next rumoured to be a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and Kalki Part 2.
