Harshad Arora is one of the most popular actors on Indian television who has worked in shows like Beintehaa, Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein, Dahleez and more. He prefers to stay low-key, and one of his best on-screen pairings was with Amrita Rao’s sister, Preetika Rao, in Beintehaa 10 years ago. However, recently, the duo got embroiled in a controversy after a decade when a fan of the duo shared a DM where Preetika accused Harshad of being a ‘womaniser’. The issue became a hot topic of discussion in the media, and after denying the claims, Harshad Arora recently revealed why he didn’t file a defamation case in the matter.
Harshad Arora reveals why he didn’t take legal action against Preetika Rao
Harshad Arora recently sat down for a chat with Zoom, where he discussed the serious allegations made by Preetika Rao against him. He mentioned that her allegations against him were silly tactics for PR purposes. The actor stated despite the serious nature of the claims, he has gotten over it and doesn’t intend to stretch the issue. Harshad revealed that at one point, he did consider taking legal action in the matter, but didn’t do it as he doesn’t have enough time for these things. He was quoted as saying:
“I don’t want to go to that level and retaliate. If I wanted to, I could have done it. Of course, I could have taken legal action on that. But then I did not have the bandwidth or time to get into that.”
Harshad further questioned the timing and credibility behind the claims. He questioned that if the allegations were accurate, then why didn’t anyone else come up despite him having done a lot of work on TV. Moreover, the actor also doubted the purpose of making these claims after a decade.
What did Preetika Rao say about Harshad Arora?
Previously, in April 2025, a netizen shared a DM with Preetika’s official Instagram handle where she slammed a fan for posting a video of her on-screen moments with Harshad. She mentioned how she has often asked fans not to post such videos with someone who had relations with multiple women. In turn, the fan asked if she had a problem with him, then why she agreed to play that role 10 years ago, to which Preetika stated that scenes come as a surprise on TV. She even stated that the fan would have to face Karma For his actions. In her words:
“Shame on you! For putting these videos on your page when I have repeatedly requested you not to post my videos with a man who sleeps with every woman he finds in the industry! Pls note: You are doing something AGAINST THE WISH.”
Later, Preetika Rao’s team clarified to the Hindustan Times that the DM was sent by one of her team members and not her. They revealed that she has left the acting world and focuses on managing her podcast channel based on the theme of spirituality and had no idea about the controversy. Later, Harshad called out the claim and mentioned nothing usually goes out on a celebrity’s social media without their permission like in his case. So, they he alleged that the actress was using the team member as a scapegoat to get away from the responsibility of her actions.
