At the grand launch event of Haale Dil, Ravie Dubey and lead actress Manisha Rani opened up about their emotional connection to the series and the creative process behind it. Produced by Dreamiyata Dramaa, the show is set to premiere on June 6 at 1 PM and is already stirring conversations with its poignant trailer and fresh storytelling.
Ravie Dubey reveals his mother inspired Haale Dil’s lead character Indu: “It came from someone very close to my heart”
Ravie Dubey, who serves as both producer and director, shared the deeply personal inspiration behind the show’s central character, Indu. “One special thing you might’ve noticed in the trailer is the reference to Vivek ji’s wife. In our society, especially after marriage, women often lose their own names—they become someone’s ‘Mrs.’ Be it Mrs. Sharma, Mrs. Gupta, or Mrs. Dubey. Haale Dil is the story of Vivek ji’s wife becoming Indu,” he explained.
He then revealed that the character of Indu is based on his own mother. “When this character was written, it came from someone very close to my heart—my mother. The innocence in her eyes, the way she speaks—everything about Indu was inspired by her. My mother is from Gorakhpur, and that rooted innocence is what we wanted to bring alive through Manisha’s performance. Sargun and I even considered naming the character Sudha, but eventually we kept it neutral and moved forward with Indu.”
Manisha Rani, who plays Indu, spoke about her debut acting experience as a lead. “This is my first acting project where I’m playing the central character. I’ve learned so much—from facing the camera to understanding performance dynamics. Ravie ji, my director, and all my co-actors have supported me immensely. I’ll understand my growth even better after I watch the show myself.”
The actress also expressed how special it was to work under the Dreamiyata banner. “I got the opportunity to work with Sargun ji and Ravie ji—both of them are so good at what they do. Going to their set didn’t feel like work, it felt like we had come somewhere truly special. We had so much fun on set—it was such a warm, joyful space.”
