Tuesday was a busy evening for the stars of Tyler Perry’s “Straw.” Members of the cast, including Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor and Sherri Shepherd, started the night at SiriusXM studios, where they discussed the themes of resilience, family dynamics, and Perry’s creative process with Bevy Smith.
Afterward, they, along with other guests, made their way to the film’s New York screening at The Plaza. Many arrived in monochromatic looks, keeping to a single color across both clothing and accessories. Denim-on-denim, all-crimson leather and tonal tailoring all made appearances.

At SiriusXM, Henson opted for a monochrome crimson palette, extending to her shoes. Her open-toe sandals — the Lorena Lace Up 75 style by Paris Texas — featured wide oxblood leather straps that wrapped around the ankle and calf, ending in a tied bow at the back.

The high-gloss sandals echoed the sheen of her Western-style fringed jacket from Ferrari’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection, with the wraparound straps and fringe creating a cohesive sense of movement and texture.
Later that evening, Henson appeared in a sculptural brown gown with a dramatic shoulder detail and high slit.

Her shoes — metallic gold heels with a slight platform — peeked from beneath the draped fabric. Though a subtle contrast, the shoes maintained the brown-gold spectrum of the gown, keeping the overall look cohesive.

Shepherd leaned into denim maximalism with a wave-pattern set by Area that extended to her shoes. Her pointed-toe pumps were cut from the same light hue as the denim in the ripples of her jacket and trousers, creating an uninterrupted visual line from top to toe.

For the screening, Shepherd meant business in an oversize white pinstripe suit with silver dot detailing across both the jacket and wide-leg trousers. The jacket featured strong shoulders and a single low-set button, layered over a white scoop-neck shirt.

She completed the look with white leather pumps finished with a silver zipper detail across the vamp, tying into the metallic accents of the suit.

Taylor’s Simone Rocha fall 2024 look at the SiriusXM studio played in gradients of black — from the gauzy sheer blouse to the architectural cargo pants — and continued the theme down to her shoes. Though concealed by the wide-leg hem, her footwear likely matched in color the matte black of the trousers, maintaining tonal consistency.
For the screening, Taylor committed to a sculptural black-and-gold palette down to her shoes in a Schiaparelli look. Her long-sleeve black velvet jumpsuit featured a high neckline, central ruching and a slight flare at the hem.

Her heels featured a gold metallic toe sculpted into human digits, complete with individual silver-tone nail accents. The remainder of the shoe was cut from black stretch satin, creating a stark contrast in texture while maintaining the sharp black-and-gold theme.
