Sarah Hyland brought a streamlined take on monochromatic dressing to the 2025 Drama Desk Awards, held on Sunday at NYU Skirball in New York City. The Broadway actress and presenter stepped onto the red carpet in a coordinated silk look by Patrizia Pepe, styled with matching pointed-toe pumps.
The two-piece set, from the Italian label’s spring 2025 collection, included a sheer blouse in silk chiffon and a coordinating floor-length skirt. The blouse featured a relaxed fit with a pointed collar and button-down front, while the skirt’s high slit added movement. Both pieces shared a glossy, tonal finish.

Hyland completed the look with matching brown pointed-toe pumps, a black clutch, and oversized eyeglasses. The actress was styled by Daniela Romero for the event.
Hyland, who made her Broadway debut at age 15 in “Grey Gardens” as young Jackie Bouvier, has recently embraced a more pared-back red carpet aesthetic. Her monochromatic look at the 2025 Drama Desk Awards marked a notable contrast to her appearance at the 2025 Drama League Award nominations in April, where she wore a baby blue beaded bomber jacket paired with metallic silver sandals from Georges Hobeika’s spring 2025 collection. That outfit embraced texture and sparkle, especially when styled with a crystal-covered headband and drop earrings.
In February 2025, Hyland returned to Broadway, portraying Daisy Buchanan in the musical adaptation of “The Great Gatsby.” She stars opposite Ryan McCartan as Jay Gatsby, following the original cast members Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada.
At the Variety Power of Women event last October, Hyland chose a more structured silhouette: a silver gown with black satin trim and a geometric neckline. She styled that outfit with silver jewelry and black nail polish. In both cases, the accessories added sharp contrast to the color story.
The 69th annual Drama Desk Awards honored both Broadway and off-Broadway productions, with Debra Messing and Tituss Burgess serving as co-hosts. In addition to Hyland, presenters included Nicole Scherzinger, Lily Rabe and Jonathan Groff, along with a slate of stage and screen favorites such as Darren Criss, Jinkx Monsoon and Victoria Clark.
