Emma Stone gave the humble cardigan a glow-up.
The “Bugonia” actress, 37, hit the SAG Actor Awards 2026 red carpet on Sunday in a custom Louis Vuitton lilac beaded slip dress and coordinating cardigan, taking the lazy-day layer to glitzy new heights.
It’s the latest in a streak of unexpectedly understated looks put together by Stone and stylist Petra Flannery this awards season, following a midriff-baring crop top at the Golden Globes and a simple white tank dress at the Producers Guild Awards.
Sunday’s floor-length chiffon gown featured thin beaded straps and a scooped neckline. The cardigan matched in both shade and shimmer, with the same glossy beadwork throughout.
Stone’s auburn bob was styled with soft wisps framing her face, and her makeup was kept simple with a rosy lip, with no visible jewelry to speak of.
The look also appeared to sidestep the evening’s official dress code: “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s,” a theme curated in partnership with Elle magazine. While many nominees and presenters turned up in feather boas, top hats and Art Deco-inspired gowns, Stone opted for ’90s-style simplicity.
At the Golden Globes in January, Stone walked the Beverly Hilton carpet in a custom Louis Vuitton butter yellow crop top with a coordinating, low-slung beaded fringe skirt.
For the BAFTAs last week in London, she went with a black Louis Vuitton halter column gown with a teardrop-shaped cutout at the chest — her most traditional red carpet pick of the season, though she accessorized only with diamond studs and a thin bracelet.
She made a rare departure from Louis Vuitton, for which she’s been an ambassador since 2017, at the Producers Guild Awards on Feb. 28, stepping out in a streamlined Calvin Klein Collection gown — another nod to ’90s minimalism.
Stone is also nominated for best actress at the 2026 Oscars on Mar. 15, giving her one more opportunity to give a wardrobe basic a black-tie makeover.
