Alia Bhatt made a notable appearance at Milan Fashion Week on Friday, February 27, joining the front row for Gucci’s highly anticipated runway show. The event marked the debut of Demna Gvasalia as the luxury brand’s new creative director. Bhatt, serving as Gucci’s first Indian Global Ambassador since May 2023, reinforced her prominent status at the international fashion event by embracing a bold new aesthetic.
Bhatt’s presence at the event was distinguished by her choice of attire: an oversized, shimmering black leather coat with statement shades. The tailored silhouette of the dress was complemented by pointed black heels and a structured black Gucci handbag, while pearl stud earrings and oversized black sunglasses completed the ensemble.
The outfit drew attention for its alignment with Demna Gvasalia’s vision of “vicious Gothic” and ironic streetwear. The glossy finish of the black leather dress added depth and drama to Bhatt’s appearance, with the hemline falling just below the knee for a classic yet assertive effect.
Bhatt’s partnership with Gucci began in 2023, signifying a historic step as she became the fashion house’s first Indian Global Ambassador. Since her debut with the brand at the Cruise 2024 show in Seoul, she has become a regular at Gucci’s front row, sharing space with global figures in the fashion industry.
Ahead of the Milan Fashion Week event, Bhatt shared a handwritten welcome note from Demna Gvasalia. The message read, “Dear Alia, Welcome to Milan, and I can’t wait to see you at my Gucci debut,” concluding with, “Love, Demna.”
This appearance was not Bhatt’s first at Milan Fashion Week, representing Gucci. Previously, in 2025, she wore a Milanese coat from the brand’s Famiglia collection, characterised by a structured silhouette and a chain belt with the GG emblem.
