Kate Middleton returned to monochrome dressing in pieces by McQueen and more for her latest outing in Wales on Thursday.
The British royal family member styled a burgundy McQueen coat for the rainy winter day. The long-sleeve coat was designed with a double-breasted silhouette, hip pockets and sinuous lapels with a midi hemline for a cozy, wearable structure.

Burgundy was the Princess of Wales main color theme for the day, incorporating further elements of her attire within the tone. Along with her McQueen coat, Middleton wore a pleated elastic waist skirt by Los Angeles-based brand Co.
Middleton’s skirt was coordinated with a Me + Em sleeveless top with a lavallière detailing at the neckline for contrasting structure. The British royal completed her attire with a pair of burgundy Gianvito Rossi leather boots. As for accessories, Middleton wore the Citrine cushion drop earrings by Kiki McDonough.

Monochrome styling is a staple of Kate Middleton’s royal wardrobe. More recently, the Princess of Wales opted for brown tones earlier this month. For an outing in London on Feb. 5, Middleton layered up in chocolate brown Edeline Lee dress, Catherine Walker coat and a pair of chocolate Gianvito Rossi suede pointed-toe pumps.
Among the monochrome tones Middleton often gravitates toward, burgundy has been a go-to for the British royal for some time. Middleton marked one of her first royal engagements of the year wearing a burgundy Roland Mouret suit, with a Me + Em blouse not dissimilar to the one the royal wore on Thursday.

Thursday marked a day full of engagements for the Prince and Princess of Wales, as they visited communities in the country ahead of St. David’s Day on March 1. The royal couple sported yellow daffodils on their clothes to honor the country.
