LONDON — Dazed began the release of the final issue under the editorship of Ib Kamara on Thursday with a cover starring Blackpink member Rosé.

Shot by Campbell Addy, the K-pop star wears a sheer polka dot look from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello amid tumbling rose petals.

In the cover story, the face of Tiffany, Rimowa, and Saint Laurent said she found it hard to detach herself and her life from work. “I’ve always felt guilty for bringing work home, but if you work until you sleep, I think that’s great. That means you love it. Even when I’m not working, my brain is,” she added.

The star also expressed her desire for anonymity.

“Freedom means being anonymous,” she said, adding that “I would love to act, because I’ll get to feel what it’s like to be anonymous.”

Rosé is one of the industry heavyweights Kamara lined up for his final issue. First reported by WWD in March, Kamara will step down at Dazed as editor in chief after a four-year tenure this summer. Ted Stansfield has been named as Kamara’s successor at the fashion title.

Kamara said his final issue centers on celebration.

“I wanted to bring together a series of covers that showcase the people who shape culture and deserve celebration, from across film, music and fashion. This was always a focus for me at Dazed, so it feels right to be ending with such a special issue,” he added.

Kamara joined Dazed in 2021 and brought a bold new tone in fashion image-making to the magazine. He made space for a new generation of global creatives, allowing them to express themselves and celebrate modern youth culture all over the world.

Going forward, Kamara said a new adventure awaits. “But I carry with me the indelible mark of these past four years, the lessons learned, the connections forged, and an unwavering faith in the power of youth culture to shape the world,” he said.
