Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards: ‘One Battle After Another,’ ‘Sinners’ Top Film Winners

One Battle After Another and Sinners were the top film winners at the 2026 Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards, presented Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Each one of Warner Bros. films won two awards, with One Battle taking contemporary make-up and hair styling and Sinners taking period and/or character make-up and hair styling. The final film award, for best special make-up prosthetics, went to Frankenstein.

In the TV categories, The Studio and Palm Royale each won two awards, with a similar split to One Battle and Sinners‘ performance in the film categories. The Studio won the contemporary make-up and hair styling prizes and Palm Royale won in the period and/or character categories. Other double winners included Skeleton Crew and Saturday Night Live, which won two awards along with one for its 50th anniversary special.

In addition to the competitive awards, Amy Madigan was honored with the Distinguished Artisan Award, presented by Weapons director Zach Cregger alongside Leo Satkovich, Melizah Wheat and Jason Collins. Emmy-nominated makeup artist Michael Johnston, who worked on Nickelodeon series like All That, The Amanda Show, Zoey 101, iCarly, Victorious, Drake & Josh and Sam & Cat, received the Vanguard Award from Frankie Grande. Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning make-up artist Greg Nelson (Raging Bull, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Batman Returns and Death Becomes Her) received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Make-Up presented by Robert Patrick and David Hussey. And Judy Alexander Cory (The Matrix, Forrest Gump and Hook) received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Hair Stylists, presented by Kathy Bates.

Additional presenters included Lisa Lisa, Garcelle Beauvais, Madeleine McGraw, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Julia Duffy and Brandon T. Jackson.

The 13th annual MUAHS Awards, hosted by Rachael Harris, took place at the Westin Bonaventure hotel.
