Rajpal Yadav’s wife, Radha Yadav, thanked members of the Hindi film industry for extending support to the actor amid his ongoing legal troubles, following his surrender at Delhi’s Tihar Jail in a cheque bounce case involving nearly Rs 9 crore.
Speaking about the response from the film fraternity with PTI, Radha Yadav said that several colleagues from the industry had come forward to help the family during the difficult period. “Everybody has stood by him. The industry has been supportive. A big thank you to everyone who is coming forward to help,” she said.
Rajpal Yadav surrendered after the Delhi High Court declined his plea seeking additional time to repay the outstanding amount in the case. The development prompted several Bollywood personalities to reach out in support of the actor and his family.
Actors and musicians including Sonu Sood, Mika Singh and Gurmeet Choudhary are among those who reportedly offered financial assistance. Actors Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Varun Dhawan have also expressed their support for Yadav during the ongoing proceedings.
Confirming the industry’s response, Rajpal Yadav’s manager, Goldie, told The Indian Express that several members of the Hindi film fraternity had contacted the family as the situation unfolded. While he did not clarify whether assistance was offered before the actor’s surrender, he noted that the outreach increased as the matter escalated.
Goldie added that the film industry has stood firmly by the actor during the crisis. Rajpal Yadav’s bail hearing is scheduled to take place on February 12.
Despite the legal setback, Rajpal Yadav continues to remain professionally active. He was last seen in the ZEE5 release Interrogation and has appeared in recent films such as Baby John, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Chandu Champion, Hungama 2, Kathal and Garam Masala.
