Hair at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards was all about the throwback.
Take, for example, the modern take on the voluminous bobs – first kicked off with a bouffant worn by Ayo Edebiri, which the Chanel ambassador paired with her frock from the brand. The same retro style got more of a Monroe-esque, Old Hollywood curl take from Selena Gomez, Ryan Destiny and Maura Higgins.
Amanda Seyfried’s slicked-back ‘do was meant to channel “ethereal, soft beauty with a hint of 1930s inspiration – timeless, polished and unmistakably golden,” said her hair stylist Renato Campora, using Parfums de Marly products.
The style, with a single curl framing Seyfried’s cheek and jaw, gave way to another key trend of the night, the early-aughts face-framing tendril. In most of its iterations, wearers rebooted the trend by tucking all their hair but wispy front pieces behind the ears, as was the case with Aimee Lou Wood and Leighton Meester.
Others went for a more deliberate approach, with the likes of Jenna Ortega and Brittany Snow keeping the rest of their locks over the ear. In the case of Ariana Grande, who only kept the tendril on one side of her face, she combined the throwback with one of her old style signatures – the high ponytail. For Ejae, it was less Y2K and more heritage-inspired with the “KPop Demon Hunters” star opting for a Korean dynastic hair style.
Most timeless of all was, to put it simply, hair: lots of it. Best seen on Chase Infiniti, Lisa, Tessa Thompson and Justine Lupe – long, wavy, natural and just-done-enough hair, long enough to graze the waist, also stole the show.
