Tej Pratap Yadav has been leading the headlines since the last week. It all began after one of his Facebook posts went viral, which allegedly revealed his 12-year-long girlfriend, Anushka. For the unversed, Tej’s divorce battle with his estranged wife, Aishwarya Rai has been going on. Amid this, his photos with Anushka created a stir online. What happened next even fanned the fuel as Lalu Prasad Yadav decided to expel Tej from the party and even the family. Anushka Yadav is Tej Pratap Yadav’s cousin’s relative, and the duo reportedly met at the latter’s home
No sooner did Tej Pratap Yadav’s photo with Anushka Yadav, along with the information about their 12-year-long relationship, surfaced, questions started moving around about the former’s marriage with Aishwarya Rai in 2018. If a report by Dainik Bhaskar is to be believed, Anushka is, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s nephew, Nagendra Rai’s wife’s relative. Anushka is the daughter of Manoj Yadav and sister of Akash Yadav. The Yadav family resides in Langartoli in Patna. According to the same news portal, Anushka’s dad was Nagendra Rai’s wife’s acquaintance and would often come to their home with his family.
Reportedly, this was the time when Tej and Anushka met, and became friends. Eventually, their friendship started growing, and as per the same report, Anushka was then studying at the Bishop Scott Girls’ School in Patna, Bihar. If the same report is to be followed, Anushka and Tej’s bond started becoming stronger and they would get spotted in several places.
Tej Pratap Yadav made Anushka’s brother, Akash Yadav the state president of Chhatra RJD, even by rebelling against his mom and brother
As per the current reports, Tej Pratap Yadav, not only brought Anushka’s brother, Akash Yadav to the party, but also made him Chhatra RJD. It was back in 2021, when Tej Pratap made Akash the state president of Chhatra RJD. Reportedly, as Tej’s brother, Tejashwi’s photos were missing from the banners, it was not liked by the party’s state president, Jagdanand Singh. Following this, Jagdanand reportedly removed Akash from the post with immediate effect and made Gagan Yadav the state president of Chhatra RJD.
This step wasn’t very likewise on Tej’s part, and he threatened to drag Jagdanand to the court. The matter was going out of the hands, and Tej reportedly didn’t even listen to his mom and brother, Tejashwi. Jagdanad later distanced himself from the party, being angry with Tej’s behaviour, but later, Lalu Prasad Yadav chipped in to solve the issue. After Akash Yadav lost his post in RJD, he joined Pashupati Kumar Paras’s party RLJP, and now, he is a spokesperson there.
‘Tej Pratap Yadav has been ‘honey trapped’ and is innocent in this matter’, Nagendra Rai made serious claims
While Tej Pratap Yadav and Anushka Yadav’s relationship has grabbed a significant amount of limelight, his cousin, Nagendra Rai made some shocking claims and stated that the former was innocent in this entire matter. Talking about the current reports, Nagendra Rai revealed that Tej has been trapped in a honey trap. Nagendra stated that he knows the entire family of Anushka. Nagendra tagged Anushka’s family as greedy and stated that they have been blackmailing Tej for a long time, and they have now tried to frame him, to secure Akash’s future. As per Dainik Bhaskar, Nagendra revealed that Akash earned money by using Tej’s name. In Nagendra’s words:
“Akash earned money by using the name of Tej Pratap and Lalu family. Anushka’s mother’s plan was to set up her daughter. Earn money and make the son an MLA. These people have made this post from Tej Pratap’s mobile by taking him into confidence.”
Nagendra Rai revealed that Anushka Yadav’s family posted the recent photos, which created a stir online, and the same family destroyed his first marriage
As per Dainik Bhaskar, Nagendra shared that the photo of Tej with Anushka was shared by the latter’s family only. Nagendra also blamed Anushka’s family for causing issues in Tej’s first marriage with Aishwarya Rai. In an interview with Zee Media, Nagendra claimed that he found Tej to be innocent in this case, and he was framed by Anushka’s family. He also was asked about Lalu Prasad Yadav’s decision to expel Tej from the family and the party. Nagendra said that this decision should have been taken after proper investigation but he will stand by Tej to prove that he’s right.
Akash Yadav and Nagendra Rai’s families reportedly had filed a case against each other
The same report by Dainik Bhaskar revealed that in December 2024, a case of extortion was registered by both Nagendra Rai and Akash Yadav’s families. After the same, police shared that it was due to an affair in their family between Akash Yadav’s sister and Nagendra’s relative. Reportedly, Akash’s sister’s relationship with Nagendra’s relative reached a point, and talks about marriage began. However, Nagendra didn’t want the marriage to happen, given his relative’s first marriage, while Akash’s family wanted a divorce. The DSP reportedly said:
“Akash’s sister and a relative of Nagendra Rai were having an affair. Things progressed and reached marriage. Nagendra Rai pressurised Akash’s family not to get married and said that the boy is already married. Whereas, Akash’s side was saying that he should divorce his old marriage and marry his sister. On this, Nagendra Rai’s side started saying that they will neither take divorce nor marry. There is a whole controversy about this.”

It was on May 24, 2025, when a now-deleted post from Tej Pratap Yadav’s profile had gone viral, wherein he was seen along with Anushka. In the caption, he revealed being in a 12-year-old relationship with the lady in the photos. Soon after, this post created a stir online, and Lalu expelled his son from the party and his family. Later, Tej took to his X (Twitter), and stated that his profile was hacked and asked people not to trust on the rumours.
