Disney+‘s next Marvel series is gearing up for a winter arrival as the streamer prepares for its upcoming series, Wonder Man in its latest sizzle reel for the latter half of 2025.
Led by Watchmen‘s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and starring Ben Kingsley, who reprises his role as Trevor Slattery, Demetrius Grosse, Lauren Glazier, Byron Bowers, and Zlatko Buric, among others, the superhero series goes super meta with its tone to bring a ground-level hero to the Disney+ audiences.

What is Wonder Man about?
According to the logline, Wonder Man tells the story of Simon Williams, a Hollywood actor who is thrust into the world of superheroes after gaining his own powers, making him the titular Wonder Man.
In an interview with EW, Kingsley stated that the show was “essentially a two-hander” for new character Simon and Trevor, who was last seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
According to the Oscar winner, the one-time villain will receive a character revamp while exploring his backstory. “He manages to escape from the real Mandarin and from Shang-Chi land, and he flies back into Hollywood to give his career a second chance and to prove to his dear mother Dorothy, who always had faith in him and his talents, that he was truly the actor his mom always hoped he would be and that he always aspired to be,” Kingsley reveals. “And a series of extraordinary events place him exactly in that space, which crowns him and compromises him at the same time. He’s pulled in two directions at the same time.”
It is loosely based on a 60-year-old comic character who started as a villain and became a longtime member of the Avengers and a founding member of the West Coast Avengers.

As mentioned above, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, the leading man of this latest superhero adventure, and as teased in footage, Sir Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery is also back after previously appearing in Shang-Chi.
The show also stars Arian Moayed, X Mayo, Zlatko Burić, Olivia Thirlby, and Byron Bowers.
