Mukul Dev, whose acting skills often left the cine lovers in awe, bid farewell to the world at the mere age of 54. The actor reportedly was admitted to a hospital for 8 to 10 days, and on May 23, 2025, he breathed his last. Rahul Dev’s brother, Mukul was suffering from loneliness, and it was revealed by his co-star, Vindu Dara Singh. Mukul Dev always kept his personal life private. He was married to Shilpa, and had a daughter with her. It was in 2005, when Shilpa and Mukul got separated. The ex-couple was so private that their wedding details were not even up anywhere. It was reported only that Mukul and Shilpa parted ways back in 2005. As per a report by FilmiBeat, it was India Forums, wherein the duo’s neighbour shared some details about their separation. Reports were rife that Shilpa moved out of his home with their daughter, Sia.
In a report by India Forums, a resident of Mukul Dev’s building who was also his friend, shared that it possibly had started due to Shilpa and Mukul’s differences over trivial matters. The resident also added that neither party could be blamed for anything that went wrong between them, as it takes two people to make a marriage work. The friend cum resident also shared that after Mukul’s separation, he had changed a lot. As per the same source, it couldn’t be determined whether they opted for a legal separation, but Mukul used to go to Delhi to meet Sia. In the resident’s words:
“I think it all started with differences over trivial matters. You can’t blame either one; it takes two to make a marriage work. But after the breakdown of his marriage, Mukul has changed a lot.”

He further mentioned that he never talked about his personal life, and would never do the same. He also stopped the questions right there by mentioning that it was a personal matter and that he wouldn’t make any comment on the same. Mukul Dev reportedly said:
“Who told you this? This is a very awkward question for me. I don’t talk about my family. This is a personal matter and I don’t want to comment.”

He said that his ex-wife called him to give the information about their daughter Sia’s birth, and it was one of the best moments that he would ever be able to forget. Sia was born in 2002, and is 23 years old now.
