India has secured a prestigious spot on the global luxury hospitality map, with The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace being named among Luxury Travel Intelligence’s (LTI) Top 15 Best New Luxury Hotels in the World for 2025. Ranked 11th globally, the property is the only hotel from India to feature on the list, which recognises the most exceptional new luxury arrivals worldwide.
Curated by LTI, a noted authority in luxury hospitality trends, the annual list evaluates new hotels on design integrity, sense of place, service philosophy and overall guest experience. The 2025 selection spans icons from London and New York to Kenya, Bangkok and Rome – making Oberoi Rajgarh’s inclusion a significant endorsement of Indian luxury hospitality on the world stage.
Set in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace is a 350-year-old royal residence meticulously restored by The Oberoi Group. Perched atop the Maniyagarh Hills, the palace offers sweeping views of the Panna Tiger Reserve, its own lush gardens and a serene, rainwater-fed lake that anchors the 70-acre estate. It was originally built by Maharaja Hindu Pat of the Bundela Dynasty.
LTI praised the transformation of the historic palace, noting how the Oberoi Group has “meticulously restored every part of this distinguished site, diligently preserving its original features, structures and flora.”
The palace houses 66 rooms and suites, seamlessly blending Bundelkhand architectural traditions with contemporary refinement. A night’s stay for two people starts at around Rs 75,000.
Beyond its regal setting, the palace offers guests a convergence of history, wildlife and culture. Just 20 minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho, the property allows travellers to explore some of India’s most intricate and iconic temple architecture, while also venturing into Panna National Park, celebrated for its tiger sightings and rich biodiversity.
Experiences at the palace are designed to immerse guests in both place and pace: dining unfolds against panoramic hilltop vistas, spa rituals draw on ancient Indian healing wisdom, and infinity pools offer moments of quiet indulgence overlooking the natural landscape. Safari excursions, temple visits and curated cultural encounters further root the stay in the region’s heritage.
In a list dominated by global heavyweights such as Rosewood, Aman, Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton, Oberoi Rajgarh’s recognition highlights the enduring appeal of Indian palatial hospitality.
