The US Senate on Wednesday confirmed billionaire private astronaut Jared Isaacman to become President Donald Trump’s Nasa administrator, placing an advocate of Mars missions and a former associate of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk as the space agency’s 15th leader.
Isaacman heads for an eventual swearing-in ceremony following the favorable vote, 67-30, on the Senate floor.
This is a developing story. It will be updated.
