It’s been a whirlwind year for Sheinelle Jones. The Today host began 2025 with a mysterious absence from the morning show. In January, it was confirmed that she was MIA due to a “family health matter.”

Four months later, Jones’ Today cohosts revealed that the journalist’s husband had died at 45 years old. “With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and Today cohost Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma,” Savannah Guthrie said. “Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him.”
