A new retail experience is coming to the Hamptons

On Friday, The Hub, created by Toni DeMauro and Michael Catalano, opened in Bridgehampton with a focus on fashion, beauty, wellness and experiences. Hub stands for health, unity and beauty, and is meant to be a “lifestyle lounge,” said Catalano. “We called it The Hub because we see it as a hub of activity.”

“It’s everything from apparel to accessories, jewelry, skin care, cosmetics, home goods.” While many of the brands and services, including Skinney Medspa, will be making their Hamptons debut, the space itself stands out on its own.

“It’s designed as a modern, very contemporary take on a Hamptons farmhouse,” he said. “It’s all glass and steel and high ceilings, but it could easily be an art gallery. It’s just a beautiful space [with] 3,000-square-feet on the main level, another 3,000 on the lower level.”

Catalano partnered with fashion designer Alex Vinash, The Hub’s creative director, to develop the space. Vinash’s designs will also be on display. Additional fashion offerings include Bronx and Banco, Teddy Cashmere, Buddha to Buddha Jewelry, Maison Palo Santo, Luxury in Reach, La Enovesé Designs, Montsera Collective, McKenzie Liautaud, Gladwell Clothing, Goldno.8 and Anna Mason London. In addition, there will be home goods and midcentury modern furniture from Modern Drama.

In addition, The Hub has doubled down on the lifestyle component of its offerings with beauty treatments, fitness classes and food and beverage options. In particular, Skinney Medspa, a New York City staple, will be available in the Hamptons for the first time offering facials, fillers, laser hair removal and more. Celebrity fitness trainer Isaac Boots will offer classes every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for 15 consecutive weeks, starting Saturday and running through Labor Day.

According to Catalano, this will be an opportunity for guests to discover new brands and vice versa for brands to find new clientele.

“This is a very coveted client,” he said. “They’re fashion-forward. They’re health-facing. They’re affluent. Brands want to get in front of them.”

To keep the space feeling fresh and entice guests to return, The Hub will host more than 50 events, including sip-and-shop fundraisers, VIP shopping events, disco parties, cabaret evenings, book signings, chef demos and more. Also, while some brands will be available the whole summer, many will be cycling in and out.

“It’s great because as a result of that mix of duration of the different brands, as people come back and return to the space, they’re going to see a different boutique,” said Catalano.

According to the cofounder, The Hub should be a place where visitors can spend a significant amount of time.

“We want people to hang out with us,” he said. “When we envision somebody coming for a fitness class in the morning, then going to our coffee bar and then going for a facial, all of that can happen here. We want people to come and spend a full morning.”

The Hub will kick off with an opening soiree on Friday evening just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
