How To Make A Killing trailer: Glen Powell plots for billions in dark comedy thriller

What happens when a man realises the fastest route to a billion-dollar inheritance might involve eliminating competition, literally? Glen Powell takes that idea head-on in How To Make A Killing, a darkly comic thriller whose newly released trailer has already stirred curiosity.

Directed by John Patton Ford, the film follows Becket Redfellow (Powell), a young man estranged from his extraordinarily wealthy family after his mother was allegedly exiled while pregnant with him. The Redfellow empire is valued at $28 billion, and Becket believes a share of it should have been his, until he’s reminded he’s now at the bottom of a seven-person line of succession.

What begins as an offhand joke, that Becket could simply remove the seven relatives blocking his path, quickly evolves into a dangerous plan. The trailer hints at a glossy but ruthless chase, with Becket becoming increasingly desperate, calculating and unhinged as each attempt draws more suspicion and risk.

Complicating matters further is Becket’s tangled personal life, which includes a girlfriend who suspects something is off and another woman who appears to be fueling his ambition. As loyalties shift and motives blur, the trailer suggests a high-stakes spiral where morality and survival collide.

The film boasts a strong ensemble: Margaret Qualley, Ed Harris, Jessica Henwick, Topher Grace, Bill Camp, Zach Woods and Raff Law join Powell in bringing this twisted inheritance chase to life.
