The first promo of ‘Mrs Deshpande’, a psychological thriller featuring Madhuri Dixit in a strikingly dark avatar. The series will soon premiere on JioHotstar.
The OTT platform announced the series and shared a promo. “A twist you won’t see coming. Hotstar Specials: Mrs. Deshpande coming soon only on @JioHotstar (sic(),” read the caption.
The teaser opens with Madhuri, dressed traditionally and adorned with jewellery, sitting before a mirror. As she begins removing her make-up and ornaments, the tone shifts. She lowers her head, and when she looks up again, her face is drained of colour and emotion. A faint, unsettling smile hints at a sinister transformation, setting the stage for a character far removed from her usual screen persona.
Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, ‘Mrs Deshpande’ is touted to be a psychological thriller. While details about the plot remain under wraps, reports suggest Madhuri may be playing a serial killer, marking a significant shift from the roles she has typically taken on.
The series marks her return to OTT after her 2022 Prime Video film ‘Maja Ma’. She made her OTT debut with Netflix’ ‘The Fame Game.’ A release date for ‘Mrs Deshpande’ is expected to be announced soon.
Along with Madhuri Dixit, the cast of ‘Mrs Deshpande’ includes Priyanshu Chatterjee, Diksha Juneja and Siddharh Chandekar, amongf others.
