It was only yesterday when Janhvi Kapoor’s Homebound received a nine-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival. The actress has been serving ravishing looks, and her streak remains unbroken as, once again, she walked out in a vintage piece. Janhvi had her third major fashion moment at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, and this time, she brought vintage glam all the way from 1957.

Janhvi Kapoor served old-Hollywood glam in a Dior 1957 dress

After taking us by storm in Anamika Khanna and Tarun Tahiliani, the Bollywood star, Janhvi Kapoor stepped out in a classic black slub silk dress by Christian Dior. The dress was originally designed in 1957 and was paired with long velvet gloves. The look remains one of the classics in fashion history, and Janhvi nailed it. The actress donned the vintage piece by Dior for a press event of Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound. This press meet comes after the film received a thunderous response from the audience at the Debussy Theatre. The screening was attended by Ghaywan, Janhvi, Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, Karan Johar, and the Dharma Productions team including Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra.

While Janhvi Kapoor has not shared the pictures so far, it was her cousin and stylist for the event, Rhea Kapoor, who gave us a glimpse of the vintage masterpiece. She shared a series of pictures, in which Janhvi could be seen donning the Dior haute couture dress. The black slub silk dress featured a curved neckline and fitted the actress like a glove. The sleeveless detail with the velvet gloves added a vintage charm to the ensemble. The dress also featured a brooch by Raniek Jewels, which reportedly showcases several natural diamonds, including a 10-carat pear-shaped diamond.

The actress completed her look with a pair of pear-shaped earrings by Birhichand Ghanshyamdas. For the unversed, Birhichand Ghanshyamdas is one of the oldest Indian luxury bridal and fine jewellery houses. Janhvi’s hair was styled into a sleek bun; as for her make-up, she opted for a soft eye with a dramatic winged eyeliner. A touch of radiant blush lit up her cheeks while nude lipstick completed the vintage effect. Rhea Kapoor shared the pictures, which also featured an original design and a picture of a model wearing the dress from back in the day. She stated:

“Today in Cannes with @janhvikapoor for the press in Christian Dior 1957 haute couture black slub silk dress. Viva la.”

Hombound’s premiere at the Cannes Film Festival

Janhvi Kapoor’s Homebound, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, left its audience moved, and the atmosphere post-screening was electric. Karan Johar, who has backed the film, was seen hugging director Neeraj Ghaywan, who broke down in his arms. The filmmaker was visibly emotional, overwhelmed by the love Homebound had received. Janhvi and Ishaan Khatter also appeared teary-eyed, soaking in the moment alongside co-star, Vishal Jethwa and the rest of the crew.
