    BELAGAVI: Demands for a separate North Karnataka state has resurfaced ahead of the winter session of the state legislature, with a Congress MLA writing to CM Siddaramaiah seeking statehood for the region. Bharamagouda (Raju) Kage, the MLA from Kagwad in Belagavi, wrote the letter on Nov 4. “I will speak in detail during the session and take the lead on this issue,” he said. In his letter, Kage proposed the formation of a new state comprising 15 districts citing the need for administrative efficiency and balanced development.
