A speeding car collided with a motorcycle on the Sheopur-Pali highway near Raipura village, killing a woman and her seven-year-old son on the spot and leaving the husband critically injured on Sunday.
According to police, the victims were returning to their village after attending a wedding ceremony in Sheopur city when the accident occurred. The car, moving at high speed, hit their motorcycle with great impact.
The deceased were identified as Ranu Bairwa (29) and her seven-year-old son, while her husband, Malkhan Bairwa (32), who was riding the bike, sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to Kota for advanced treatment.
After the collision, the car driver fled the scene. The Dehat police have seized the vehicle and launched a search to trace the absconding driver.
