Filmmaker Anees Bazmee took to Instagram today to mark the third anniversary of his blockbuster hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, reflecting on the film’s unforgettable journey and the love it continues to receive from audiences.

Released in 2022 during a time when the world was emerging from the shadows of the pandemic, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 brought back not just the thrills and chills, but also laughter and joy to theatres across the country. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in lead roles, the film became a massive box office success, reinvigorating the Hindi horror-comedy genre and re-establishing Bazmee’s mastery in the commercial cinema space.
In his post, Bazmee wrote, “Three years ago, during a time when the world was just beginning to heal, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 found its way to the big screen—and into your hearts. I will never forget the love, the laughter, and the energy you all brought back into theatres. Watching audiences return, smiling, clapping, laughing together—it meant more than words can ever express.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 followed the 2007 film as a spiritual successor and managed to find its own space with a blend of light humor, suspense, and Tabu’s notable dual performance. The updated soundtrack, including the title track remake, also added to its popularity.
