Being accused of favoritism and bias is nothing new for Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss, and the 19th season is once again under public scrutiny. The latest controversy erupted after viewers felt that this week’s nomination task was not only biased but also unfair—particularly for actress Hina Khan, who was the runner-up in season 11.

For the unversed, this week’s nomination task resulted in Gaurav Khanna, Nehal Chudasma, Baseer Ali, and Pranit More being put up for eviction. During the task, contestants had to go to the activity area, select a picture from a locker, and decide whether to nominate the contestant in the photo or save them from nomination.
Reacting to the task, Hina Khan tweeted: “If fixed nominations had a FACE / Sabse pehle kisko bheja to open the box decides everything / Aur Haan box number choose karne ke baad kya peeche se tasveeren badli jaa rahi thi.. humein kya pata. Janta jaan na chaahti hai. This show has lost its charm sadly. Subhraatri (sic).”

The comments section of her tweet quickly turned into a discussion forum for viewers. One user wrote, “OMG!!! I thought the same… Changing the frames is not difficult for them. It would have been fair if the whole house was nominated. I don’t understand what they are doing every season.” Another argued, “Arre, mana picture change ho sakti hai, but bande ko save karna ya nominate karna was beyond the team’s imagination and control. And when everyone knew that only four could be nominated, Baseer and others could have taken a different decision.”
Yet another viewer noted, “It’s in their power, and we all know who will save whom and nominate whom. For example, they put Gaurav’s photo in all the boxes since they knew Baseer would nominate him. Obviously, Gaurav wouldn’t get evicted, but Nehal got a point. Makers wanted to save Malti, Neelam, Shehbaz, and Amaal.”
It is worth mentioning that Bigg Boss 19 premiered eight weeks ago, and so far, only four contestants—Natalia Janoszek, Nagma Mirajkar, Awez Darbar, and Zeishan Qadari—have been evicted. Viewers have observed that whenever certain contestants face nominations, the makers often cancel evictions. With the weekend eviction approaching, it will be interesting to see who finally exits the house this time.
