Angel Reese made her Victoria’s Secret runway debut Wednesday night in Brooklyn, becoming the first professional athlete to join Rene Angels. For the brand’s “Reawakening” show, the Chicago Sky forward traded sneakers for silver René Caovilla sandal heels — marking another milestone for both the athlete and the Italian maison, which was confirmed as the exclusive shoe partner for the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This marks its second consecutive year providing footwear for the Angels.
Reese’s Rene Caovilla sandals feature a minimalist silhouette with a single metallic strap across the toes and a matching ankle strap. The polished silver finish creates a mirror effect, while the slim stiletto heel and clear sole lend a barely-there, weightless appearance.

Even though it was the athlete’s first time on the Victoria’s Secret runway, it wasn’t Reese’s first appearance in high heels. Over the past year, she has built a quiet off-court footwear portfolio anchored by Gianvito Rossi — including the Dorotea organza-trimmed sandal she wore to the New York Film Festival in September, the PVC Metropolis heel at the 2024 CFDA Awards and the Montecarlo sandal at the 38th annual FNAAs.

Reese’s athletic line has charted its own course. Reebok released her signature Angel Reese 1 this fall in Diamond Dust, Mebounds and Receipts Ready colorways, with the Baltimore-inspired “Charm City” edition arriving on October 24. “I wanted to design a basketball shoe that elevates performance, innovation, style and creative expression all at once,” she said when announcing the launch.
The athlete has also expanded into fashion through her recent Juicy Couture partnership. As the brand’s new global ambassador and codesigner of the Angel Couture collection, she introduced updated velour sets, baby Ts and Viva La Juicy fragrance campaigns that mirror her off-court persona.

The 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show featured Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Ashley Graham, Joan Smalls and Barbara Palvin under the “Reawakening” theme, with performances by Missy Elliott, Karol G, Madison Beer and TWICE. Held in Brooklyn for a crowd of 700, the show marked the second year of Victoria’s Secret’s return to the runway after a six-year hiatus.
