Thieves in Ranchi broke into a sweet shop and carried out the robbery while dancing and celebrating inside the premises. The incident took place on the night of May 17 at Bhola Misthan Bhandar and Restaurant.

As per the CCTV footage reviewed by the shop owner, the thieves appeared completely unafraid and carefree. They were seen not only stealing but also eating sweets, sipping cold drinks, and dancing inside the kitchen. The footage shows the duo thoroughly enjoying the robbery.

Shop owner Pankaj Gupta was stunned after watching the CCTV footage. “They danced their way through the theft. They seemed to be celebrating inside the restaurant. They ate sweets, drank cold drinks, and packed several sweets to take along,” he said.

Another owner, Ashok Gupta, said that the damage caused by the thieves was far greater than the value of the sweets they consumed. The miscreants also stole Rs 80,000 in cash along with other valuables.

“The amount of loss they caused is much more than what they actually ate. They packed up several sweets and took them away,” Ashok Gupta said.

The shop owners have filed an FIR at the police station against unidentified individuals. Based on the CCTV footage, police have launched an investigation. Manoj Kumar, Officer-in-Charge, informed India Today that the thieves are not believed to be locals. He assured that efforts are underway to identify and arrest them at the earliest.
