Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, best known for his ‘Drishyam’ franchise, recently brought audiences another gripping crime thriller, ‘Mirage’, which hit theatres on September 19. Starring Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles, the film opened to mixed reviews from critics. Now, fans who missed the theatrical run can soon catch the film online, as ‘Mirage’ is set to premiere on SonyLIV on October 20.
Announcing the digital release with a new trailer, SonyLIV wrote on social media, “Every story hides a secret. This one hides many. #Mirage streaming from Oct 20th only on Sony LIV.” The film will be available in multiple languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali.
The trailer opens with a woman reflecting on a mysterious journey, followed by glimpses of an investigative reporter, Ashwin Kumar (Asif Ali), unraveling a web of secrets surrounding Kiran and his fiancee, Abhirami (Aparna Balamurali). The tension escalates as Abhirami begins to suspect that there’s more to the case than meets the eye.
‘Mirage’ is co-written by Jeethu Joseph and Srinivasan Abrol, based on a story by Aparna R Tarakad. The film is produced by Naad Studios and E4 Experiments in association with Seven 1 Seven Productions and Bedtime Stories. The cast also includes Hakim Shahjahan, Hannah Reji Koshy, Saravanan, Sampath Raj, and Deepak Parambol.
After ‘Mirage’, Jeethu continues his busy slate with ‘Ram: Part 1’ starring Mohanlal and ‘Drishyam 3’, which will also be made in Hindi with Ajay Devgn. He is additionally working on ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ featuring Biju Menon and Joju George.
