Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India’s T20I team, was seeking spiritual strength ahead of India’s upcoming tour to Australia. The couple’s spiritual moment received great attention online, and fans shared the video Suryakumar posted on Instagram. However, some were quick to point out that the video features Avneet Kaur seated next to them and praying, which generated curiosity about their meetup.

Suryakumar Yadav was dressed in traditional attire and performed rituals at Madhya Pradesh’s Mahakal Temple alongside his wife, Devisha Shetty, immersed in devotion. The couple twinned in white as they sat by the door of Lord Shiva with folded arms. The cricketer posted an Instagram reel featuring the deity and the devotees, revealing a familiar face present there. It was the rising Gen Z television and film actress, Avneet Kaur. Avenney was seated right next to Devisha, making fans baffled at the unexpected crossover.
They wondered if Suryakumar and Devisha knew her and whether or not they arrived together. There is a high probability that the couple met Avneet at the venue itself. Since celebrities pray in a separate area reserved for dignitaries, they must have come across each other. Suryakumar’s temple visit was to seek the Lord’s blessings ahead of the three-match T20 series in Australia starting October 29, 2025. This is not his first visit to the Mahakal Temple.
Suryakumar Yadav previously also visited on January 22, 2023, along with cricketers, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar to pray for the recovery of Rishabh Pant after his car accident. Avneet Kaur, however, made the spiritual visit on the occasion of her 24th birthday. For the auspicious occasion, she wore a pink suit with a matching dupatta and was also seen wearing a garland of marigolds and roses.

Avneet Kaur was last seen in the romantic drama, Love in Vietnam, alongwith Shantanu Maheshwari and Vietnamese actress, Kha Nganwhich. The movie was released in theatres on September 12, 2025 and was a box-office flop. The project was the first collaboration between India and Vietnam and was based on the Turkish novel, Madonna in a Fur Coat. Before Love in Vietnam, Avneet Kaur starred in the comedy film, Luv Ki Arrange Marriage, which was released in June 2024. Avneet played the role of ‘Ishika’, starring opposite Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety fame, Sunny Singh.
