In a heartfelt and candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, actor Bobby Deol reflected on the strong sense of camaraderie within Bollywood, his warm bond with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and the projects that lie ahead in his flourishing career.

Speaking about Shah Rukh Khan, Bobby couldn’t help but praise the superstar’s humility and grace despite his towering fame. “He (Shah Rukh) gives so much respect… he’s such a huge star and he makes everyone feel special,” Bobby said fondly. Recalling their first meetings, he shared, “Nothing. He was just so happy. He thanked me so much. You know how amazing Shah Rukh is. He gives so much respect. He gives not just me; everyone he meets in his life. There’s so much… he’s such a huge star and he makes everyone feel special. And that’s his genuineness,” he told Bollywood Hungama.
For Bobby, Bollywood’s foundation goes beyond films and fame — it’s built on genuine support and long-standing relationships. He further went on, “We need each other. No matter what people talk about the industry, we are there for each other,” he said, adding, “I have my own boys and I know that if I ever need Shah Rukh’s help in any which way he would be there. He would not even think twice, you know, so I wasn’t trying to help. I was just being there because that’s what we do for our industry people, you know, as much as we can.”
Reflecting on his father Dharmendra’s legacy and the values he’s inherited, Bobby added, “More than him, I was more happy because… see, in our industry, we need each other. No matter what people talk about the industry, we are there for each other. That’s how my dad has been. His career has been through that whole journey where he’s been there for so many people in his life. He’s helped so many people right… so there is a lot of goodness around still as much as people say it’s not a family, it’s business but there is enough goodness.”
On the work front, Bobby confirmed, “I have Alpha coming out. Yes, we saw the teaser.” When asked about Animal Park, he stayed cautious: “Will there be Animal Park? … I don’t know anything about it. I can’t give you an answer. May be I will say something and it might not turn out like that. If I gauge the timeline for that then he (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) is busy filming the Prabhas film right now. By the time he finishes, it will be a year or two.”
As for what kind of roles he hopes to take on next, Bobby made it clear he’s ready to explore beyond his comfort zone. “I’m looking for all genres. I just want to be in a place where it’s out of my comfort zone. I’m ready to take anything on. As long as I can understand the character and I believe in that character, it doesn’t matter what genre it is,” he concluded.
With authenticity, humility, and renewed energy guiding his choices, Bobby Deol continues to evolve — both as an actor and as one of Bollywood’s most respected figures.
