YouTuber, Ashish Chanchlani and actress, Elli AvRam made headlines earlier this year in July 2025. For the unversed, on July 12, 2025, Ashish dropped a romantic picture with Elli, which sparked dating rumours. However, later it was revealed that the cosy photo featuring the two was from their music video, Chandaniya. Along with many congratulatory messages, there were a lot of crass misogynistic remarks made about Elli. Following the chaos, popular influencer, Uorfi Javed came in support of Elli and hit back at the trolls. Now, in an interview, Elli AvRam broke her silence on the hatred she received after the picture of her with Ashish went viral.

Elli AvRam opens up about the ‘body count’ comment

After the picture featuring Ashish and Elli went viral, many netizens pointed out the latter’s previous relationships and also made the ‘body count’ comment. In a recent interview with Zoom, Elli opened up about the harsh remark. She shared that earlier, the exact meaning of the word ‘body count’ was not known to her. But after she got to know its real meaning from the Gen-Z people, she found it nasty. Elli mentioned famous influencer, Uorfi Javed, who backed her amid the trolls. She was quoted as saying:

“Body count stands for something else, which, honestly, even I didn’t know what it meant until my Gen-Z people explained to me what body count means. The number of people that you have been physically with, that’s what it means. That’s why it was very nasty. Of course, Uorfi gave that statement, and it was really sweet of her. She’s that one person who really speaks up.”

Elli AvRam slams trolls for targeting women

In the same interview, Elli slammed trolls who criticised women for everything they do. She mentioned that it is always a woman who is being targeted. She explained how society, and especially frustrated men, think of women as demons. She also wished that the people who demean women would become more mature and respect them. In her words:

“I feel it always happens with women. It never happens with men. It’s always us; we are the demons. And it’s just society, life and frustrated men, probably very hurt also — we can just pray for them and bless them with more light and that they become more mature, heal and understand how to respect women and human beings.”

When Uorfi Javed hit back at trolls

Following the online criticism that Elli was facing after the picture of her and Ashish surfaced online, Uorfi came to her support. She took to her Instagram Stories and hit back at the trolls. In her IG Story, Uorfi pointed out that Elli was being unfairly attacked even though she hadn’t done anything wrong, while Ashish, faced no criticism. She also highlighted how society often judges women and mistreats them, often more harshly than men. She also called out the double standards that society holds. The note can be read as:

“The world is so brutal to women, just a girl absolutely minding her business, she ain’t even controversial like me, but guess what, no hate to the man. People love to villainise and hate women, that’s how they feel superior.”
