Echoing the National Awards earlier this year, two Bollywood star-actors have jointly shared the Best Actor award at the 70th Filmfare Awards on October 11 held at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Abhishek Bachchan on sharing the Best Actor Filmfare Award with Kartik Aaryan, “He is outstanding in Chandu Champion”

While Vikrant Massey shared the National Award with Shah Rukh Khan, Kartik Aaryan and Abhishek Bachchan jointly won the Filmfare trophy for their career-defining performances in Chandu Champion and I Want To Talk, respectively.

Speaking to this writer after the event, Abhishek Bachchan said, “I am very happy to be honoured for a performance that wasn’t seen by as many as my director Shoojit Sircar and I would have liked. And to win it on my father’s birthday… couldn’t ask for more. And yes, very happy to share it with Kartik Aaryan, who is outstanding in Chandu Champion.”

Alia Bhatt won the best actress award for Jigra beating the other strong nominee Yami Gautam (for Article 370). Bhatt took a day off from her shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War to attend the awards in Ahmedabad.
