Who is ‘Role Model’? What’s his real name? Here’s a look at his profile
For the unversed, Role Model’s real name is Tucker Pillsbury, and he’s 28 years old. The singer-songwriter caught Mac Miller’s attention for the first time in 2017 after releasing his ballad, Stolen Car, which was about addiction and longing. Following this, his career was boosted instantly, leading him to deal with Interscope Records. And eventually led him to perform at the biggest Coachella back in 2022. To mention, while he works with bands, he used Role Model as his single stage name. He was once asked about the reason he chose the name ‘Role Model’ for himself. Talking about the same, Tucker revealed to Today that it was funny and he wondered if it would work out, which actually did. He could be quoted as saying:
“That’s a good question. You know what, I thought it was funny at the time that I chose it, and you don’t think ahead that if it works out, you’re stuck with that for life. So here we are on live TV as Role Model.”

Role Model eventually released two albums: Rx, which came out in 2022, and Kansas Anymore, which was dropped in 2024. This year, a deluxe version of Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye) was released with four more songs. Before starting his albums, Role Model released his first album at 20 years old, titled Arizona In the Summer. For the unversed, Role Model’s Kansas Anymore was actually inspired by a breakup with his ex, Emma Chamberlain, as he revealed in several interviews.
Role Model and Emma Chamberlain’s high-profile relationship
When Role Model released his first album, RX, the attention shifted to his personal life. He told GQ that his album, which consisted of love songs, was all about his girlfriend. While the singer back then didn’t disclose anything in one of the songs, Never Let You Go featured Emma Chamberlain, whose face was not even visible. Well, the couple made it official in 2022, revealing they had been together for several months and had been texting each other throughout the lockdown.
Talking about Emma, Tucker once shared that she is the best. He also mentioned that Emma was his first girlfriend, and before her, he wasn’t interested in having girlfriends or being in relationships. Tucker was even scared about how this relationship would eventually affect his music. However, they shared a strong bond with each other, which could be reflected in his lyrics. In October 2023, Emma and Tucker called it quits for reasons best known to them. He told GQ:
“This relationship is my first girlfriend ever. I’m so used to sleeping around and breaking hearts. I was very closed off to the idea of a relationship before this. I was always scared of how it would influence my music. I’m just so happy with this person, though. She’s the best.”

While nothing much is known about Role Model as of now, he is reportedly all set to make his acting debut soon in the movie Good Sex, written and directed by Lena Dunham, where he will star alongside Portman, Mark Ruffalo, Meg Ryan, Rashida Jones, and Tramell Tillman.
