    J&K police hunt targets ‘terror ecosystem’ – The Times of India

    JAMMU: J&K police carried out searches at over a dozen locations in Poonch district of Jammu region Sunday, aiming to dismantle what officials described as a “terrorist ecosystem” in the border region.In Kashmir valley, State Investigation Agency (SIA) raided 11 locations in a case related to sleeper cell networks. Several suspects were detained for questioning and officials said “a lot of incriminating material” was confiscated.Searches focused on homes of “overground workers” (OGWs), who provide logistical support, cash, shelter, and other infrastructure to terrorists, as well as play a vital role in attacks, providing real-time information. Suspects linked to terrorists operating from Pakistan and PoK are also targeted.Electronic devices and other materials were seized during search operations at six locations in Chhamber-Sawjian area of Poonch. No arrests were made.Police also charged 23 alleged terrorist associates and miscreants under Public Safety Act in Srinagar. “They were detained earlier and lodged in district jails of Poonch, Udhampur, and Kot Balwal of Jammu,” a police spokesperson said.
