The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has announced a winter internship programme for 2025.

The initiative is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in cybersecurity, digital forensics, and cybercrime investigation. The last date to submit applications is October 17.

The internship offers participants a unique opportunity to develop skills in cybercrime investigation while contributing to public safety and national security.

Candidates will have the chance to work alongside experts in the field, gaining practical exposure that can significantly boost their professional experience.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates from a wide range of academic backgrounds are eligible to apply. Undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students in courses related to technology, law, social sciences, and media can participate. The eligible fields include:

• Computer Science, Information Technology, and Computer Science and Engineering

• Electrical or Electronic Communication Engineering

• Cyber Security, Information Security, Cyber Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics

• LLB or LLM, Criminology or Sociology

• Blockchain Technology, Dark Web domain expertise, Ethical Hacker Certification

• API or Software Development, Automation, Malware Analysis – Reverse Engineering, Content Creation

• BA or MA in Journalism, Mass Communication, New Media, or Digital Journalism

• Diploma/Degree in Digital Media, Content Writing, Graphic Designing, or Video Editing

• MA or Diploma in Events or PR Studies

• BBA or MBA in Data Analytics

HOW TO APPLY

Applicants are required to attach all necessary documents, which will be thoroughly reviewed before shortlisting. The application process involves:

• Visit the official website, i4c.mha.gov.in

• Navigating to ‘What’s New’

• Downloading the Internship SOP along with the application form and undertaking

• Submitting the application online via Google Form

Shortlisted candidates will be informed within 4–5 weeks after the application deadline.

The internship is unpaid, and I4C or the state and UT police will not provide accommodation. Upon successful completion, candidates will receive a certificate from I4C.

The programme aims to provide hands-on exposure to cybersecurity and digital forensics, allowing students to gain practical skills while contributing to India’s efforts in combating cybercrime.
