Shannon Tweed reveals the cause behind Gene Simmons’ accident
According to NBC4 Los Angeles, Gene Simmons was driving his Lincoln Navigator on October 7, 2025, when he suddenly lost consciousness behind the wheel, causing his car to veer across several lanes of traffic before it collided with a parked vehicle. Gene’s wife, Shannon, later told TMZ that the shocking incident was caused by her husband’s dehydration and new medication. She said, “Gene hates to drink water,” and the combination of dehydration and the effects of his medication caused him to faint mid-drive.
The emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene after a person near the crash site called 912. The musician was then transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. According to USA Today, Gene himself confirmed that he had fainted before the crash to the authorities from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Later, he was discharged and is now recovering at his home, with his wife by his side. Reassuring his fans about his well-being, Gene took to his X handle and penned:
“Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens, especially to those of us who are horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”
Was Gene Simmons drunk during his SUV crash?
After the news of Gene Simmons’ crash surfaced on the internet, speculation began about whether the 76-year-old was under the influence of alcohol or any illicit substances. However, authorities did not report finding any signs of any. At the same time, Shannon emphasized that a purely medical issue had caused the accident. “You see my hand?” It does not shake, and I’m 75. Kids, don’t do drugs and booze, and stop smoking.”
