The tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas continues to haunt Los Angeles. It all began weeks earlier when her decomposed body was discovered inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to singer, D4vd, best known for his song, Romantic Homicide. The cops found the Tesla at a two-yard in Hollywood Hills, and it took weeks to identify her. As the investigation of the case continues, Celeste’s family and friends have finally bid her an emotional farewell while the LAPD continues to find answers surrounding her mysterious death.
Celeste Rivas’ casket is finally laid to rest
On October 6, 2025, mourners gathered at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California, to lay Celeste to rest. A big white car arrived at the site as her friends and family members carried her small casket to its final resting place under a large tent. The heartbreaking farewell gave her loved ones a chance to find closure after weeks of anguish and grief.

Sources told TMZ that the service gave her community a chance to say goodbye after a case that has shaken Los Angeles. Her family has created a page on GoFundMe to raise funds for her funeral and final rites. Earlier, the investigators confirmed that the remains had been potentially lying in the Tesla for several weeks. However, the exact cause of her death remains under investigation, which could answer several significant questions.
Why is D4vd not named as a suspect in the Celeste Rivas case?
Celeste Rivas was reported missing in 2024 from her Lake Elsinore home. Months later, police received an alert about a foul odor coming from a towed Tesla, which led them to find her remains. The vehicle was later confirmed to be registered to D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, making him a key figure in the case. At the same time, the Tesla had been reportedly impounded from a Hollywood Hills rental property linked to the singer.
Despite the disturbing connection between the car and the deceased teenager, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has confirmed that D4vd has not been named a suspect in the case. A spokesperson for the LAPD told Rolling Stone that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner had yet to determine the cause or manner of Celeste Rivas. Consequently, it remained unclear whether there was any criminal culpability on the part of the singer beyond the concealment of her body.
At the same time, while the Tesla belonged to also stated that while the Tesla belonged to D4vd, there is currently no evidence directly linking him to Celeste’s death. However, the police have searched the singer’s Hollywood Hills residence and seized digital devices. Still, they have found nothing conclusive to name him as an official suspect. Meanwhile, the singer has maintained silence and cancelled his US and Europe tour amid the investigation.
