Playing With Sport

Straying from her usual uniform, Zoë Kravitz mixed it up with an unexpected pop of color recently during Paris Fashion Week. True to standby silhouettes, of course the tonal splash came through the use of a vibrant slip skirt (a go-to piece for Kravitz), but the surprise twist was the sporty-on-top styling. A khaki jacket, inspired by retro windbreakers, allows for day-to-night outfitting, when paired with those lace-trimmed bits underneath. Keep things easy in the accessories department with a lower strappy heel and simple pouch handbag that can work for daytime, then pop on diamond-encrusted chandelier earrings for an evening-forward touch when it’s time for cocktails.

Slip Into Something Lacey

If there is one trend that Kravitz goes back to time and again, it’s lingerie dressing. It doesn’t take much to pull off this barely-there look, either. All you need is a sleek and slinky slip dress with lace trims and voilà—outfitting for date night, evenings out, or your next cocktail event is sorted. High-heeled mules, a simple clutch, and delicate hits of jewelry (we love the gold anklet and arm cuff here) are really all you need, proving sometimes the simplest styling formulas can really be the best.

Kravtiz’s extensive T-shirt collection is one archive we’d like to raid, but to get a similar feel, reach for something vintage-inspired. The vintage raglan tee has seen a revival in recent months—variations have been spotted on Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber this summer—but Kravitz gives it her cool-girl twist by pairing it with a plaid-printed slip skirt and her signature black ballerina flats. It’s an easy way to start transitioning your wardrobe to the cooler season—simply add a trench coat or leather jacket overtop as the temperatures drop.

The Modern Leisure Suit

Pulling inspiration from the ’70s, Kravitz’s take on the leisure suit is sheer genius. A little relaxed and a bit oversized, she effortlessly paired her navy suit set with a wide-collared, white button-down shirt, another nod to the decade of disco; the pro move here is to leave it left untucked and with the collar over the lapels. She plugs in those ’90s-inspired accessories to truly make it her own and keep things modern. Simple leather flip-flops can be worn now, then easily traded for a black boot as fall and winter approach.

Falling in line with the idea of nightgown dressing comes another vintage-inspired hit that works for the daytime, as well, not just evening attire. Whether for work or weekend, tailoring is always a fall must-have. Here, Kravitz works the little black waistcoat—showing a little skin with her pinstriped trouser pants. By wearing her Still Here Sport jeans slightly undone, with a black cardigan, simple white tank, and her signature black ballerinas, she balances the laid-back vibe of relaxed denim with a bit of polish elsewhere, namely her mainstay accessories—including, oversized sunnies and simple jewelry—which add that final, effortless touch.
